New Year and the Plan

As I'm sitting here listening to some sweet tunes on my Pandora - Somewhere In Time station (going to start a music blog). I felt it was appropriate to start this up again, and start it all right. So here's to the New Year and to the Plan (outlined further below)! I'm kind of excited for this semester, because I have lots of things to do, and I have yet to give up. I keep getting down because the running around gets intense, but I got this!!!

So what is this 'the Plan', well people may call it a resolution, but I think it's a bit to specific for being a resolution. Plus, when I say I'm doing 'the Plan' it just sounds cooler. I can just imagine people nodding their heads in disgust.

Anyways, the Plan:
  • Don't miss more than 1 day a week of classes
  • Pay attention in class, no surfing
  • Start homework as soon as its assigned
  • DO HOMEWORK!!
  • Do not drop out on your commitments (work/research/extracurriculars)
  • Have a blast!! Meet people, go out, do things!!
One sec folks a quick pep talk: so it's a really basic plan, but now that it's written, you MUST follow it Sravan, or else....the fist that doesn't like you (right or left?) is going to say "Hallo"...watch out.

Anyways, basic plan, tough to follow through. So here we go Spring 2011 and to the rest of life. Makin it happen!

Back at It - Recap Fall 10

It's been a while since I wrote anything. In fact, a New Year came by between the time I last wrote and now. I'm going to make this blog a summary of what happened between that time, essentially a recap. Firstly, last semester was by no means a spectacular, in fact it was pretty bad. It was hard to remake college friends, and I ended up spending a lot of time just me and Hulu.com. I think that's what really killed my social life, my grades, my extracurriculars. Life's a big huge classroom, isn't it?

Fall 10, was a pretty bad semester/half of the year, I didn't make many friends/kept in touch with old ones. I did horrible in all of my classes, not even just one, all of them. Broke my ties with my research group and spent soo much money on top of the tuition that my parents are paying for now. The worst part of it all, is that it's a record stuck there forever, and every time, I think of it...it was, to summarize, a very depressing semester. Nonetheless. New Year's (and semesters and even days) call for change. I haven't eaten Papa John's in forever (and I plan to keep it that way).

I'm actually glad I went through that, because now I had my time to suck it up. So better get to it. I'm going to start a new post for the New Year's plans.

Regroup Week

This week was a pretty bad one, I decided to drop Math 415, because I couldn't keep up with the work, I missed the deadline for the CS 241 MP, and I was too lazy to participate in the Yahoo HackU Hackathon! All of which, started making me think....what the hell am I doing? I'm spending a lot of money to get an education, to build a life, and I'm just wasting it away (Hulu, we might have to end our relationship :( ). So Friday night got me thinking, after Sam and Karan, two of my friends, took first place at Yahoo HackU (I'm very happy and proud of them), I need to get my life together and in order. Bringing me to Saturday, which has so far been a pretty good day. I woke up early at about 7:30am to go with Habitat for Humanity and landscape one of the homes they built. I wish I grabbed my camera, but I didn't and have no photos to show of my work! But it was a great time, I met new people, gained some invaluable landscaping experience and helped out another person (the home owner). Even though I was shit tired (and still am), I managed to drag myself back to the room, where I watched the Fighting Illini take PSU's Nittany Lions with a win 33-13. And finally wrapped up the whole day, with some room cleaning and laundering (I did 6 loads of laundry!!!!). So which brings me here.

So final story, hope is everywhere, no matter what anyone says, does or thinks, no matter what happens or will happen, life is to be lived and lived to the fullest. Don't let anything get you down and "Bust A Move"

First Blog

So, after years/months/days of thinking about creating a blog, I finally have created one. My original intention was to create a blog from scratch and to somehow get some mullah to host it. However, my laziness clearly won the battle over my ambitiousness and so I have failed at that. Now, however, I've decided it's time to set my life straight, and instead of continually inscribing my life's adventures into a "diary" or trying to remember what happened three weekends back (what did happen?) I will just succumb to Google and use their free easy-to-setup blogging platform.

So with that said and now officially done, welcome to my blog!

Having written his first blog,
Sravan
